2010 Lincoln MKT LMS tuned!!!

Recommended Posts

Hey guys!

Rick fromLivernois was kind enough to send me a few tunes this morning prior to his departure for the show... Since I had filled the MKT up with 91 octane this week, I couldn't upoad stage4+, so I went with stage 3 91 octane. I was with my kids and wife going to restaurant and I really want to try it... I did two small WOT and OMG, thast thing is a beast! Just from 25mph to 55mph... two times and my wife said, try it on your own, I'm gonna puke!

So, while she was putting our youngest to bed (giving the milk etc.), I went back on my own and tried the thing... Now we're talking!

I had already filmed a few runs with the 2013 SHO PP and now I filmed a few with the MKT and I timed them with an online timer...

2013 PP SHO completely stock was (in mph):

0-60: 5.4 sec.

0-80: 8.3 sec.

0-100: 12.6 sec.

2010 Lincoln MKT EB with LMS stage 3 (91 octane):

0-60: 5.4 sec.

0-80: 8.3 sec.

0-100: not tried...

I will install stage 4+ in it this weekend, so for a few days/weeks, my fastest car will be the Lincoln MKT! hahaha!

I believe that with stage 4+, I might see a 5 sec. flat! Not too shabby for a 5,000 lbs boat! Bring the Jeep SRT8 next... almost

Cheers!

Not so sure about other goodies for that one. My guess is that with stage 4+, it should go 13.4 at 104 mph.

I want to keep it quiet, comfy, family ride. And since the SHO won't look sleeper for too long, I like the contrast of the MKT being the ultimate sleeper. I bought it used and the ecoboost badge has a bit of the black flaking or fading, so I might remove the ecoboost badge and play it under radar with that one.

I am very happy that I finally have two EBs in the driveway!

Great stuff!!! I'd really be interested to see how it runs with the stage 4+ on straight 93 octane!! Because if I tune mine that'll be the route I take. Just a stage 4+ tune and no alky, and NO other mods.

Your waiting shouldn't be too long to get your answer...

Here is the relation that I experienced from my 300+ 1/4 mile runs and looking at others and watching too many youtube videos (with good launch):

0-60 times vs 1/4 mile:

6.7 sec = 15 sec at 93mph

5.7 sec = 14 sec at 100mph

4.6 sec = 13 sec at 108mph

3.6 sec = 12 sec at 117 mph

(easier to remember in km/h, 7sec=15, 6=14,5=13,4=12). Works only in that range.

More or less, but gives a very good idea... Then the aerodynamics, hp vs torque etc may affect that relation, but it is a rule of thumb that people can

use to predict a 1/4 mile...

So, with a 5.0-5.1 sec 0-60 eith the MKT, that is why I expect a 13.3sec. on a tune only (stage 4+).

Sounds like you are enjoying both of your new rides Steve. Very cool. :)

MKT ( eco or non eco boost ) is on the candidate list for replacing my wife's 2001 Cadillac this Spring. As isTahoe LTZ, Enclave, Acadia Denali, Durango Citadel). If I had a great service department for the Lincoln, like you do, the choice would be very simple.

Back to my traditions. Now that it is tuned, I took advantage of nice weather (around 40F with a bit of sun) to give it a bath and go hunting. Hehehe!

I got very lucky. I thought that nobody would lime to play with me, but the opposite, they want to give me a correction... Like: hey kiddo, what are you thinking teasing me with a big Lincoln boat? Then they accelerate and can't lose me or I pass them! Lol...

I arrived at red light behind what I believe was a 2007 911 Carrera S convertible (roof open! Welcome to Quebec!).

I was in his bumper to put gentle pressure and I was ready to hit it when he would... He did and we went from 20-80 mph and I swear I was right there with him... I had changed lane to be prudent and I could see the fume from his working exhausts confirming that he was under full WOT, then he slowed down and when I passed him, we gave me the: I wasn't expecting that type of smile... He was a good player.

Then I found a hurry C350 with AMG written on the side (AMG package, but still 302hp)... He wanted to play too, but seemed frustrated... Was slowing down, then I wanted to change lane to pass him and he was hitting it, but I was fatser than him... Anyways, I didn't like his attitude and disn't want ro race a frustrated man, you never know what his pride could lead him to do...

He turned in a bank parking and I went beside to tell him that I appreciated him racing me and it was just for fun etc. But he didn't let me say that, he told me that it was a C63 AMG with 400 and something horse power (I told him 451hp),but he intentionally had put a C350 badge to make it look like a sleeper... (yeah right, so that's why the letters AMG were on the side of his front doors (I didn't tell him not to burst his bubble)...Loser!). He told me that I had no chance and I should not race against car like his with my truck...

Anyways, I am satisfied and will keep it for the track... Now it will be driven by my wife most of the time, but I had to baptise it before lending her the keys...

Cheers!

(PS professional driver, private road, do not attempt). Lol

What a sore looser that Merc guy was. Sorry he overpaid for his slow POS. I've raced a ton on the street over the years (yes, I was young and dumb and now I'm old and dumb. Sorry. :( ). I've won a lot and lost a lot. It's always been about having fun and being gracious to others for me and I've only had one real "confrontation" over it but thankfully nothing stupid happened. I've never understood how angry people get over loosing sometimes. It's a machine guys. It's not like you were in a foot race and personally bested anyone. You planted your foot and had a fun ride. Today, your ride was faster than his. Tomorrow it'll be someone else. Maybe someone faster. Who cares. Have fun and stay safe. I'm glad you're enjoying your new ride. It's truely a great one.

Thanks, well said... Only machines... And to me, everyone has the right to try someone else... The heck have I pushed fast cars to show me what they got. So many people buy fast cars and never press the gas, you wonder why they bought it. I understand that you can't WOT everytime a civic ask you to, but I sure like to SHO them a quick WOT when begged for!
