Taking my Explorer Sport to Royal Purple tonight...

My guess is 14.2 with no wind, not too humid and not too hot (60F) at sea level... You can adjust it by 0.1 second for every 10F, 10mph wind, 750 feet elevation...

That means if it is 70F = + 0.1

Track at 1500 ft = + 0.2

Tail wind of 10mph = - 0.1

So you would expect 14.4 in those conditions... You shouldn't have any traction issues with an AWD Explorer.

Good luck and looking forward for results and my predictions...

Actually I ran 14.9 @ 93. I was only able to get in one pass. The track was packed full of trucks. My 60ft was garbage. Turns out I didn't know how to turn the traction control off and being half full of 87 octane didn't help me. I'll go back soon. I know the sport has more in it.

Please put at least 91 octane with your twin turbo engine... Better for the engine and more power.

Traction control can be turned off partially by pressing the button behind shifter. For completely turn off, you need to hold brakes while pushing it a good 6-7 seconds until you get a message.

You need to hold brakes at the line and press gas until 2000 rpm and then floor it when ready to go.

You should be able to shuffle off at least half a second.

Keep practicing!

Thanks for the advice Steve. I'm gonna give it another go this weekend. I know the XSPORT has more in it. Wish I had more time that day.
