Fastest MKS

The gearing is the same unless the SHO has the performance package. Non PP SHOs and MKSs have 2.77 gear. PP equipped SHOs have a 3.16. The performance package is not offered on the MKS. Having said all that, there is virtually no difference in performance of a tuned standard SHO or MKS. There is an ongoing debate on whether the PP package equipped SHOs are quicker.

If we added a few bolt ons and got you a new tune revision you would go even faster!

Having recently joined the LME 3 Bar club myself, I can tell you that YES it does make a significant difference. You should contact Jaimie and go for it. I was happy with my 4+, but the new 3 Bar tunes are even better. MY post above was with the 4+. I am simply guessing conservatively that I can get down to a 4.1 0-60 and a 12.6 1/4 mile.....when I am able to test with the 4x when it gets warmer.

I agree with Todd. LME's latest tune for the 2010-2012 MKSs and SHOs will put you in the 12s. There are lots of variables but given the right weather, altitude, track and launch conditions, you could likely break into the 12s even with the 4+ tune.

Fuzzy, unless you have modified it, that CAI you are running is probably doing more harm than good. Also, when you say you have traction issues off the line, are you talking specifically about the track where you run or on the street, too? What tires are you running? I have never considered traction to be much of a problem with mine unless there was some sort of residue on the road surface.

My sincere apology to Smokingozzy! I am sure anyone wise enough to drive an MKS with a Livernois tune could not look like a hairless bear.

Lol, No offence taken !!! Can you run 93 octane with the Livernois 3 bar tunes ? My tires were the stock Michelins. I have Nittos on her now. Not sure what kind they are one size wider than stock. It may be just the track I ran on Milan dragway is known for having traction issuses sometimes. How is the airraid doing me more harm than good ???

I had the air raid and got rid of it. I felt as though it could have been harming my performance. I did not have the hood seal modification and it was not a windstorm from Livernois. So take what I am saying with a grain of salt. Also, for best performance, you should get a 93 octane tune with the 3 bar. They can also give you a 91 octane tune with the 3 bar, in case you are in an area where you cannot get 93 octane. But again, for best results, you should use 93 octane with a 93 octane 3bar tune.

To piggyback on what tss said: The problem with the Airaid is that it sucks in hot air from under the hood unless it has been modified to fit tightly against the underside of the hood. The stock airbox gets cooler air ONLY from the outside. 93 octane should be fine for Livernois 3 bar tunes. If you can get it, you should run it. Some guys have experimented with adding a bit of E85 to the 93 to get even higher octane but there is risk with that and Livernois discourages doing it.

It sounds like traction issues are most likely due to the surface at Milan. I would think your tires should hold very well. I know a lot of guys reduce the tire pressure substantially to get better traction. I have often wondered what the trade-off is in terms of more rolling resistance at higher speeds with the low pressure. On most street surfaces, I get just enough wheelspin to keep the RPM and boost up. However, I have never been to Milan.
