Mks throwing code p0087

Very likely the fuel pump or the fuel pump control module, which there is a recall on for certain vehicles.  Check the Lincoln owner's site to see if your MKS is included

https://owner.lincoln.com/tools/account/maintenance/recalls.html

Even if it isn't, take your MKS in to the dealer, let them see the code and tell them you suspect the FP or the FPCM, and refer to the recall 16S31.

Mine had same code, with hesitation and infrequent stalling with rough idle. I told my ford service rep those conditions. Brought it in, they did recall for fuel pump module and an updated tune for a TSB. Now the car runs way better then when I first got it, significantly smoother, motor less noisey and noticeably more powerful especially from 3,000 rpm to redline. My car would not get near red line before or spin the tires, but it does both now!
