tss
My son and I were driving today and saw this. It appears to be the pace car for the Michigan International Speedway Brickyard 400. It was parked at a bowling alley bar at 4 in the afternoon on a Wednesday. tss
I mistakenly posted in this section. Sorry. Maybe an admin can get it to the right place?
brucelinc
I do not believe the Gen 4 SHO has ever been used as a pace car in NASCAR. It seems odd to use it now that the the Gen 4 is getting a bit long in the tooth and has a very iffy future. Seems like they would use a Fusion Sport or Mustang. Don't get me wrong....I like the idea of using an SHO, but it seems strange to me under the circumstances.
tss
I was also very surprised Bruce. It definitely looked like an official pace car. And I also sent a picture to a fellow former member, Don, (Donkey444) who lives near the fire keepers casino and he indicated he has seen that car before and told me it actually is an official pace car for the Brickyard 400 at Michigan international Speedway. mjhpadi
I agree, I was somewhat surprised, but it was a pleasant surprise. Maybe they got the car donated from a dealer or some other source? But it's nice to see the SHO get some recognition!
tarmstrong
I can't view the pictures on this computer but the Brickyard 400 is at Indianapolis. The Michigan races are the Pure Michigan 400 and the FireKeepers Casino 400, I think. tss
tss
My mistake.........I keep saying Brickyard........Firekeepers was the decal on the side and the casino near Don..........I guess it is apparent that I don't follow NASCAR. tss
markssho
The Gen 4 SHO was a pace car at the Bristol and Richmond NASCAR tracks a few years ago. Sent from my XT1094 using Tapatalk brucelinc
mjhpadi
Interesting and thanks for the info Mark, it's apparent that like Todd, I don't follow NASCAR, I'm more of an NHRA guy....
brucelinc
I do follow NASCAR but I didn't know the SHO had been used as a pace car before. Thanks for the info, Mark.
