Ride along in our Focus ST!

That's actually got a pretty nice little growl to it. As always' date=' nice video. I know you mentioned you were going to keep this stock but what's the harm in "just a tune"? Ha ha. :heh:[/quote']

Thanks!

I love the growl, even if it's from the gimmicky, "Sound Symposer".... I'm just a big kid at heart, so the sound just make me smile!

Oh, and "Just a tune.." yeah, that's how it starts... LOL

Holy cow...Santa Claus drives a Foucus ST...who knew.

serious though....can you turn off the sound thing. that would get old real fast.

Let's just say......christmas came early ;). Seriously though, this car looks like so much fun to drive! Turbos just make everything more fun don't they....

Yeah, i'm probably not the target market segment for this car! LOL!

The "Sound Symposer" can't be turned off... as in some kind of switch... couple probably be disconnected... As far as getting old... it really is only there when you get on the throttle... not like it is constantly on... Not sure if I will tire of it!

and yes, griggs95, this car is a LOT of FUN! Love me some EcoBoost! LOL

Maybe the ASS (active sound symposer) is to direct the tuner boys away from getting obnoxious bumble bee coffee can mufflers installed so the rest of us can live peacefully.

I am trying to get out of my debacle of SHO trans issues and into the ST. Sure, I lose comfort/luxury/power/room but I gain more fun/handling/braking/mpg/lower payment. Test drove one Saturday, salesman was whiny and route was crappy but I made him hold on nonetheless.

Dealer tried hard to sell me what was on the lot as opposed to me ordering ST3 pkg. F them, I don't care about them making money. Probably didn't help the deal on trade in as they only offered 21k on my SHO. Walked away.

Just for grins tonight, i opened the door and stuck my head out so I could hear the actual exhaust and gave the car a few quick revs... OMG, it was only slightly louder than the Flex was when it was stock.... hmmmmmm.... hmmmm.... Ok, i promise NO FART CAN! LOL!

  • 1 month later...

Is the sound symposer a tube off the intake into the cabin? If so, thats what my '10 Mustang GT had, it dint bother me and the car was my daily driver.actually I know on the Mustang here was 2 foam pieces 1 at the intake and 1 where the tube came into the cabin, some guys remove them so its louder in cabin. The only way I can think of getting rid of it would be to find some type of cap you could clamp down where the tube comes off the intake pipe.

That's a nice car btw!

Scrming you know I had a 12.6sec run but you've beat up so many Camaro Guys that a SS Camaro (who was KICKING THE CRIP OUT OF THE MUSTANGs) wouldn't even run me, you going to have them scared to run THE FOCUS ST too.LOL Nice run man.

The Sound Symposer is a tube from the intake plenum to the cabin... however it actually has some electronically controlled valves... you can simply disconnect the wiring harness and that basically turns the symposer off... We did that the other day so we could hear what the MRT exhaust sounds like in the cabin without the Symposer ON:

LOL! Yeah, seem now I have people coming up to me and asking, "Is this the 12 second Flex I keep hearing about?" LOL!

Not sure I'll be scaring any Camaros with the ST at the drag strip! However, the road course or autocross might be a different story! LOL

Symposer does a nice job translating the sound into the cabin. Quieter' date=' but still vocal without it. Nice ...[/quote']

Actually what you are now hearing is the MRT Eco-Flow exhaust!!!

Yes, the stock muffler was incredibly quiet...
