  1. OP, Which part number for the front rotors did you buy? And was it just the rotor or did the rotor come with the unit bearing and reluctor? EBC wants four hundred bucks just for the front rotors. I did the EBC redstuff and slotted rear brakes and love them. But sticker shock is killing me on the fronts. Thanks, Bruce
  2. Well, my old girl hit 60k miles today. Still runs like a top. She could use a good detail though. B.
  3. Hello All, Well, the old girl is just about ready for some new shoes. With 54k+ on the odo, I guess it was bound to happen right? I went to Les Schwab tires today and they only list one tire. I know there are lots of others, which I have checked out at America's Tires. But, I would like to knwo what you think of the one first. It is the Toyo Proxes 4 plus. 104 load rating and W speed rating. They had one on the shelf. I liked the tread pattern and the look of the tire. It has 50K tread wear warranty. The size is 255/45ZR-19XL. So what do you guys think of this tire? Thanks, Bruce
  4. Toyo Proxes 4 plus

Okay, I got the Michelin Pilot Super Sport about a month ago. Very smooth riding. They grip the pavement like Velcro. Now I have to wait for winter to see how they do there. B.
  5. The link to your pics does not work. B.
  6. Toyo Proxes 4 plus

The car has the Michelin Primacy on it now. I don't like their look. They have narrow shoulders which give the appearance the rims are to wide. But the rims are factory. So I am looking for a tire with a wider shoulder. So how about the Michelin Pilot Super Sport? Or the Pirelli P Zero? Both of those have a better visual apperance and about a hundred bucks cheaper each than the Toyos. BUT, the Toyo has a 50k mileage guarantee. The Michelin has a 30k. And the Pirelli has? Nothing. Thanks, B.
  7. Toyo Proxes 4 plus

Well I really don't need a Z rated tire for sure. And I don't do snow in the SHO (LOL). So maybe go with a set of Michelin P Zeros then? Bruce
  8. Hello All, I want to report my SHO is running great. She will need new shoes soon. Don't know what I am going to buy yet. When I got her serviced this last Saturday and the dealer said the rear brakes are needing replacement. The car has 53,000+ miles on her and not driven too hard. So I will take a look at that myself. Kind of odd they would need replacement that fast. The fronts I could understand, but the rears? The only thing is the spare 5 button key fob. The fob I usually use had a battery dying on me. So I got new batteries for both. I went to try the spare fob after the battery replacement and got nothing. The car says no key detected. I know the battery is installed correctly. And I checked it to make sure too. But none of the fob functions work. So what happened? Do these fob's just go belly up like that from not being used. It's been like two years since I used it last and it was fine then. Since then it has been hanging on the keyboard. If I need a new fob do I have to go to the dealer to have it programmed? Okay thanks guys. Drive safe. Bruce
  9. 2013 SHO key fob died

No kidding. The dealer was going to charge me 130 bucks to program a new fob. Ouch!!! B.
  10. 2013 SHO key fob died

Thanks for the input. My car is a 2013 Tarusu SHO nonPP. I checked the battery with a tester and it was dead. When I was changing it, it is possible I got distracted and put the old battery back in. That's the only thing I can figure out. I got another battery and now everything is fine. Oh well, chalk it up to not paying attention I guess. Unless the new battery was dead also. I did not bother to test it assuming it was good since it was new after all. Thanks again, Bruce
  11. Nice. What is the size of these compaired to the factory pieces? Got more pics? Bruce
  12. Hello all, Car has been doing great. EXCEPT for one recurring issue. Well, two, but this one is the most annoying. The issue has happened three times. The first was late last year. Then episodes two and three in the last week. Here is the issue. Fired up the car and headed out for about a 35 minute drive. Right off the bat no sound from the radio. None of my preset radio stations were being displayed. When I touched the screen I would get the feed back "bonk" sound, but nothing would happen. Climate controls and navigation were working. Tried to make a call and no audio. I pulled over like twice and shut the car off, waited a minute and started her back up with the same result. After being parked for about three hours I got back into the old girl and everything was working normally. Then last week it happened again. Same symptoms. The dash to the right of the speedo states "No Audio". This time I again tried pulling over and shutting off the car. Opened the door for a minute. Shut the door and started her back up. Radio came back on and everything seemed to be working. Today the same issue. But when I pulled over and did the shut down restart thing it did not effect the radio any. Still no audio. Tried to make a phone call through the car's system and no sound even though it appeared as though a call was being made. Climate control was working fine. Navigation was working fine. Dash was again saying "No Audio". None of my audio presets were being displayed. And the option to select different audio inputs such as FM, USB, etc were greyed out and not accessible. When I would touch the screen in radio mode I would still get the same "bonk" sound when making any selection as usual. Problem persisted the entrie drive to work. Got into her after work today and eveything was working normally. Sssooooooooooo............................ Any thoughts? The second issue is tied into the ambient lighting. Custom colors I select will randomly revert back to the factory default color. Some colors seem to last longer than others before they revert back. But eventually they revert to default color and brightness settings. I have talked to a local dealer about this. They have seen this particular issue and brough it up to Ford. And Ford told them this is normal and nothing can be done. I called BS on that, and the dealer aggreed and added their hands were tied. Even though they have seen the same issue with other vehicles with multi color ambient lighting systems. The dealer told me the problem is most likely a fault with the "body" module in the car's CAN system. But unless I wanted to buy that computer module, nothing could be done. Thanks, Bruce
  13. No Audio Sony factory system

Yes, the radio not working is a big PITA. The ambient lighting isn't that big of a deal. I just thought I would mention it. I guess I need to get ahold of the dealer, since the old girl has a couple of recalls already, and see if they have an idea of what it could be. Thanks, Bruce
  14. Warranty vs. Tuning

Yes, this has been touched upon more than once. Here and at other forums. But it doesn't hurt to mention it again since it's been while that I have seen it brought up. Plus, it usually comes up inside of a thread and not as a thread by itself. Does your ride have purple front marker lights? Or is it the lighting giving that effect? Which Battlestar was 313? B
  15. 2015 SHO no PP -- what upgrades??

As far as the exhaust goes, which one gives more of a V8 sound out of our V6's? OP, feel free to post some pics of your new ride. We LOVE pics. Bruce
  16. Hello All, Okay, the factory Ford bumper to bumper is going to expire in about six weeks or 1200 miles. The car is a Ford certified pre-owned car through Ford warranty program already. BUT, that only covers drivetrain/power train for 7 years or 100,000 miles. The touch panel I believe also has a warranty until 50,000 miles on the MyTouch DIC display IIRC. HOWEVER, the finer things in life, or, more accurately the CAR, will not be covered once the 3year 36,000 miles is up. I can get additional coverage through Ford if I sign up before that happens. I have had two small problems with the car since I have had it when bought last May. Problem one is; The interior ambient light settings keep reverting back to the factory default every three weeks or so from my color choice. Not a big deal but annoying. I talked to the local dealer and was told they have brought this issue up to Ford and were told by Ford it is normal not to worry about it. This seemed to occur when I would change the color to purple. I tried using red and so far no problems. So there might be an issue with the line of computer code for the color purple in the body CAN module. Problem two is; A few weeks ago the radio stopped working. The car had sat overnight. It was the first start of the day. Went to turn up the volume and nothing. None of the four systems on the touch panel would respond to my inputs. The system would beep when I tried to select a function, but nothing would change. I cycled the ignition several times but no change. It was a 45 minute drive to my destination and the radio never worked during this time period. I had not done any updates to the system in the months leading up to this event. The car sat for about 5 hours at my destination on this event. When it was time to go home, everything was working as it should. This problem has not happened again. Oh also, it has the Sony upgraded system. So, should I get the extended warranty through Ford or roll the dice and let it expire? Thoughts? Thanks guys, Bruce
  17. Okay thanks. I should have checked in here before I bought a policy yesterday. DARN IT!!!!! Maybe I can call them tomorrow and see what they can do. They still haven't sent me my registration yet so maybe I can cancel and get it through Ziegler. Bruce
  18. OP, did you ever take those pics? Interested in seeing the install and chalk test. B.
  19. Um..... Bummer... How could different dealers offer different pricing on Ford ESP? The warranty is still through Ford correct? Bruce
  20. The car came with Ford's pre-owned 7yr 100,000 mile warranty on the power and drive train. I would think the turbos would be covered under that extended warranty. B.
  21. Yeah, I hear you there for sure. I'm sure the car will be trouble free, BUT....... If something does go berserk it's going to be expensive to fix. I think the turbos are covered under the 7 year 100,000 pre-owned warranty correct? B.
  22. Bummer. So what is a guy to do to help keep these things clean? A little compressed air every fall? B.
  23. Is there a way to run a pipe cleaner down the sunroof drain tubes to keep them clean? B.
