  5. I have a 2013 PP SHO with CPO warranty. I have had the car only 8 months. My mirror has suffered delamination and has turned all black. Ford will not replace under CPO warranty and wants $450 dollars to replace just mirror glass, not the whole mirror unit. Not only is a black mirror irritating it is also a safety issue. I found part number: AG1Z-17K707-DD which is just the mirror glass with blind spot, but not heated, for around $237 bucks and will attempt to replace myself. Does anyone have knowledge or detailed instructions on how to replace mirror glass? Or know where I can find detailed instructions? Thanks for any help, I am current disabled and financially unable to pay such craziness for a mirror.
  6. Mine had same code, with hesitation and infrequent stalling with rough idle. I told my ford service rep those conditions. Brought it in, they did recall for fuel pump module and an updated tune for a TSB. Now the car runs way better then when I first got it, significantly smoother, motor less noisey and noticeably more powerful especially from 3,000 rpm to redline. My car would not get near red line before or spin the tires, but it does both now!
  7. I know Torrie has basically full control with tune, but what can one do to self adjust any parameters . I thought I would use the stock sctx4 tune for the sho to play around, then when bored, add the sp534 plugs, thermostat, 3bar map and Torrie 93 tune. I am particular when I want my fans on, Max rpm, shift rpm, shifting in D and S more agressive, and taking off top end limiter. I also like to play with shifting feel, the throw you forward shift vs the chirp tires shifts. What leadway do you get with this scanner, how are the stock sct tunes? Anything anyone wants to comment on blast away I am thick skinned.....
  8. Old thread but I thought I'd add. I have a certified 2013 PP and the dealer put on Chinese All Seasons. They are Zenna Argus UHP AA/A 420 . Seems fine can't break them loose, hardly even in rain. When these wear out.... I ran Cooper Zeon RS3-A a/s tires on my G8 GT and they were the best tires ever, cheap and lasted forever on a 12 sec car. Even went in snow ok. There are tires out nearly as good as summer tires but way better in fall or winter. Real winter driving demand dedicated snow tires. Warning:worse tire ever used was Michelin pilot sport AS3. Suppose to be closer to summer tire but a 3 season tire. My G8 would smoke them even if I floored it at 35mph. Off the line or everyday driving they would spin anyt I me I very third of a throttle. Very dangerous tire on a G8 rear drive. No other tire I ever ran before was as bad...
  9. I traded in my G8 (12.58@109.78 before 1.85 rollers) on may 21st 2016. The dealer was 2 hours away. The dealer was excellent.The car is a 2013 PP certified 7/100. Unfortunately 160 total miles from purchase the windshield wiper motor died. Noticed a high pitch whine anytime with wheels moving, progressive with speed, 35 m p h sounded like I had 455 ratio gears, at 65 you could hear it over the radio. The rpms started to flutter, hover around 500 rpm. Car stalled four times while idling, once at a traffic light. Car threw a SES code light. The car starts right up, drives ok. Bought car on Saturday 4pm may 21st. Took to local dealer may 24 11 am Tuesday under warranty, they called back 445pm, this what they said..... p0455/456 gross vacuum leak purge valve,to be "taken care of", assume replacement, smoke test will fix any vacuum leaks. This will take care of SES light, the low rpms, the stalling, and rpm flutter. Will replace dead windshield wiper motor. The whine is rear axle, part backorered, but will put emergency rush on it. Tuesday 1030am may 31st, spoke to service manager, I explained my concerns and lack of confidence in the vehicle. He said no worries we take care of you, he will also go over car quickly, update computer if needed, recalls, will check trans fluid for color smell temp under load make recommendations, really no need to replace fluid for 60,000 unless been in deep water. The rear axle I was told is actually the PTU being replaced. Should be in Thurseday, car be ready by end of day. Asked again if I needed a rental, which I declined before twice. He will update me on ETA of my car, fix what he said, give recommendations on trans condition, rear differential etc. Will update thread when appropriate. ....
  10. Airfilter 2013 SHO

    Thank you for the reply. The AEM is 30 bucks cheaper, but I was looking for the AFE pro dry synthetic or the Amsoil dry synthetic panel filte..... which after you responded I found and now I know they a just 2013 taurus sized panel. For reference I tried multiple cai, cone set ups ram air, under the car,closed box etc airfilter combos looking for the best throttle response, mpg, hp...low end and upper end and temp...used four cars over 10 yrs, 99 Buick Regal GS with supercharger-underdriven, headers, intake, exhaust....09 G8 GT cold air box, open cone,vararam cai, Gutted stock box with afe panel vs cone in Gutted box. 011 mustang gt 5.0, dodge Magnum rt hemi stock except cai's tested on it. The overall winner was the vararam, cold air charge and could compress .75 lb boost above 60mph.winner winner chicken dinner. Next was any stock box was to connect to outside air, enlarge this opening, keep top sealer off from inside hood air, use a AFE or AMSOIL dry synthetic flow panel or cone in the gutted box work over better then 80 aftermarket cai. This is same plan for my 2013 SHO PP, keep seal, enlarge, bring more cold air in add AFE or AMSOIL dry cone or filter panel....with aTune, 3bar, 170 thermo and 534 plugs at .030 or .032.
  11. I am looking to replace my airfilter with a AFE dry synthetic filter. I cannot find anywhere it says for a 2013 SHO. Only lists are for "all" 2013 Taurus. Do we have the same filter as a SE or SEL non-SHO Taurus?
  12. 2013 PP SHO Introduction

    Greetings Everyone! I am new to the SHO forum. I did own a 1995 SHO. I was previously with the Buick Regal GS list, and then two Pontiac G8 GT lists, the G8 FORUM and the high performance Gr888 list which was an open list, a fun list, where everything, names, products, services were all open season, just no meanness. My name is Joe and I have a problem. I like to modify my vehicle and can't stop myself. I used to slowly moddify my cars because of finances , until they had 100,000+ miles on them and they were perfect. But the had 100,000 + miles on them. With the G8 I went right out and followed the forum recipe for mid 12's and for 127,000 miles I was happy. Best time 12.58@109.78, driven right off the street to Atco nj racetrack. I could snap off 5 or 6 13.00's hotlapped, driven from Gas station to track, babyseat in back, stock tires, stock tire pressures, trunk full of: full size spare, 3 ton jack, sports equipment, tools, etra parts, hiking boots and clothes and coats. I never made it to the track with my last set up: version 2 Vararam Ram Air CAI, Yella Terra aluminum 1.85 roller rockets, Comp Cams custom Pro pushrods, PRC .600 Beehive springs, light exhaust port, clean up and slight port. Or with my ported and polished MAF, Balduccis Racing rebuilt trans with extra Red Alto clutches and steels, new lightweight flex plate and CircleD 3000 rpm stall. Custom VMS tune. I will always wonder what it would have done with all the new goodies. I fixed everything right before I traded it in, I put new Russel ss brake lines, changed diff fluid, put on new FE3 GXP struts and shocks, BMR poly bushings, Whiteline Poly bearings. New EBC rotors and Hawk Performance’s HPS braking compound with unique Ferro-Carbon matrix. I was preparing the car for long distance travel this summer, then decided on the SHO and a warranty, AWD was a definite plus. After the dealer bend over encounter and the G8 traded in, I got a FORD Taurus SHO -2013 with Performance package , 35,500 miles, Ford certified, 402a package, and moonroof. Black with metalflake exterior and with charcoal and black leather interior. It has new Chinese Zenna Argus UHP tires rated 420 AA/A. Cool looking tread pattern, but all season not PP spec summer tires. I looked them up on net and they had a following saying works as good any good UHP tire and got great marks from M3 guys and Mustang guys. I can't break them loose in the rain , seem a little loud but drive smooth, straight and has great traction so far in mostly wet NJ conditions. Unfortunately I have only been able to drive the SHO in the rain, 136 miles and now it is in the shop. Wiper fluid motor. No fluid squirting. Reservoir is full. Dead no noise. Distinct whining gear noise middle of car, worse faster you go, over 35 gets real loud at 65. The Rpm flutters on the tach, like bad plugs, or missing...The car set a SES code on dash.(p0456-purge valve gross leak detected) The tach needle flutters just above 500, ....low? Stalled at idle 4 times, once at a light....but starts right back up. Seems to drive ok, no odd noises, taps or smoke. The Brake fluid is like Belgium chocolate brown. The dealer called said, wiper fluid motor is dead,the stalling and rpm fluttering was purge valve leak and the whine is from the rear axle, and they are replacing the axle but may take up to a week to get parts. This is my SHO introduction....
