Rear engine mount

Recommended Posts

The rear engine mount is somehow not designed to hold back the torque delivery from hard shifts, namely 1st-2nd. Not sure how this design flaw made it this far but seems to be an easy fix.

There are a few upgraded mounts available. There is one in particular that seems to be more successful than others.

Symptoms:

1. extreme wheel hop

2. violent sounding clang (apparently engine hitting firewall)

Solution:

1. major - replace rear engine mount with upgraded one

2. relatively minor - but I saw that the down pipe is a flexible unit to compensate for engine movement. stiffening that up may help as well

p.s. I'm not trying to advertise for other websites regarding source information or which parts to buy. Request an admin to allow me to post where/what or you guys can PM me.
