mjhpadi
We are working with AirRaid right now to offer the taller blade with the Windstorm. Great, can't wait to see what you guys come up with...hopefully you can come up with a great way to better keep out the heat. Good luck with it, keep us updated. pejohnson
I received the taller blade stripping from Airaid. I installed it and my hood would not shut all the way. Just FYI to all. I'll need to play with it more to see if it will seal better.
ShoBoat
I received the taller blade stripping from Airaid. I installed it and my hood would not shut all the way. Just FYI to all. I'll need to play with it more to see if it will seal better. I noticed that on mine it was difficult to close the hood with the taller blade. Hence why I went to the foam. Let us know how you make out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk mjhpadi
mjhpadi
I haven't had a chance to pick up the foam yet for mine...looking forward to your results! But I am planning on getting the foam and installing it...just have to find the time to get to Home Depot, since it will be a special trip, don't have one locally.... Guest Guest
SHOnUup had a great idea of using foam pipe insulation. The black stuff. IIRC it has adhesive on both sides where it comes together. And, it's made to cover hot water pipes. (160-180 degrees) maybe even steam pipes. Could be the best bet yet. mjhpadi
That is a good idea...wonder what diameter would work best?
mjhpadi
Just did a quick check at Lowe's...found this, and may give it a try: http://www.lowes.com/pd_21415-1410-S11XB/6_0__?productId=1060005&Ntt=foam+pipe+insulation&pl=1¤tURL=%3FNtt%3Dfoam%2Bpipe%2Binsulatio
Guest Guest
Looks great! I too am curious if the seal will get a bit better with some age behind it. Let us know how you make out! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk After a couple days, the seal has molded very well to the contours of the hood liner. Very happy with it.
