bigPelo
So I plugged everything tonight but bulbs won't lite up. Tried with and without the warning cancellers. Also tried one side halogen and one HID. The halogen side lite right away, but not the HID which never lite. I thought the kit I bought came with a relay harness but it didn't. It's my last possibility: taking the juice for the ballasts directly from the battery... Unless someone have another idea...
ShoBoat
The harness can plug in both ways, if its reversed it will not light up. Try unplugging the harness and flip the connector over and plug it back in again. The same thing happened to me.

Does it matter which one of the plug I flip over? the one that was connected in the halogne bulb? or the one that plug the ballast the HID bulb? On both side or only one at a time? Thank you ShoBoat! ShoBoat
Flip ony one of the harness at a time test and then the other side, the one at the ballast is easier. Let us know how you make out.
RedCandySHO
http://www.theretrofitsource.com/pdf/trs_tech/Morimoto_Standalone_Can-Bus_Harness.pdf Check out the last line. As SHOBoat mentioned, you may need to switch the pins around in the connector.
bigPelo
I will try again tonight. At least the rubber covers are already drilled; shouldn't take too long. Thanks everyone!
bigPelo
I can't believe it's just that the problem  Edit: I can't embed the video... :frusty:
RedCandySHO
Just installed my kit. Took me about 2 hours, but I am a bit fanatical about mounting the ballasts etc. Turned them ON, nothing. Reversed the Positive / Negative connection, poof....bright lights. RedCandySHO
Also. Never installed the error cancellers. No "bulb out messages, but will see what happens after driving awhile.
mjhpadi
Sounds great, let us know what you think of them after some night driving. Did you go with the 5K temp?
RedCandySHO
Yep, 5K. They looked sorta greenish in the garage, but we will see how they work at night. I had Sylvania Ultra halogens, so I don't know how much better the HID's will be, but we will see.
mjhpadi
One more question...How hard are the bulbs to get at? I've never really looked to see how much work they are to change.
Jhover
The bulbs are pretty easy to access, I did take out the airbox to make a bit more room.
RedCandySHO
Drove a little at night with them tonight. Nice clean white light. Hard to gauge brightness as I was in the city, but still seemed much nicer than the Sylvania Ultra halogens. Wish I had HID projectors. Bulbs are pretty easy to access, but I also had the airaid airbox out (mounted one of the ballast to the side of it). Great mod for $160. bigPelo
I successed just be reversing polarity! I will post photos tomorrow after early morning driving and impression.
bigPelo
Halogen HID Halogen HID HID in front of garage door low beam High beam There is a good difference while driving, not so on the indoor garage pictures though. HID are almost the same color has the LEDs fog light strips which I like. There's a blind spot on the driver side, not so visible while driving. steve142857
I have no idea what you talking about :canada: Mastercraft is the exclusive brand name for Canadian Tire's tools... lol Yeah, I have HID's too and it looks nicer and we can see well with them (as opposed to just changing the bulb for a «pure white» sylvana bulb that actually just looks better but reduces visibility... It's funny to see that with hallogen, the LED fog lights appear to be so white/blue compared to hallogen but now we can see some yellow in the fog light compared to HID's. Good job! mjhpadi
Steve, just for clarification, our cars do not have fog lights. The LED strip lights are referred to in the Owner's Manual as: Supplemental Park Lamps. And one more question, I got looking at the different HID bulbs available and I don't see one listed with the D3S number. Is there also a different number for this bulb or how do I know which bulb will fit our sockets?

DDM is a pain in the ass for service but they have the best quality bulbs and ballasts in my experience.

74d34h
I can't get the stock ones out. I have to get a video how mine get stuck. I can untwist them but my harness hits the rear opening and won't allow me to pull them out. The hole is smaller then the bulb and harness connected. It's a back burner project I'm afraid of damaging the bulb or unhooking the harness and being without headlights.
bigPelo
The passenger side light stopped working Monday. It lit Wenesday morning but shuts down half way to work. It hasn't worked since. I guess the bulb is fryed, I will try to troubleshoot tonight. It worked perfectly fine for two months and now it ain't :mad2:
