TractorAK
Hmmm looks cool although I just had rear drivers brake light replaced due to condensation and they had to get Ford approval because the assembly was 575$ so you don't want to F up your stockers. Crash712us
I've seen these and they been discussed before. I don't believe I'm aware of anyone that has done these yet as it involves splitting tail assemblies apart. But as these car age more parts come available for cheaper so maybe someone will do sometime soon.
SHO Rod
Interesting timing, I was just looking at those last night and sent in a couple of question on them. I got a response that my questions would be reviewed before being posted. I asked if the kit comes with all LEDs, including the turn/reverse LEDs and a second question of if the lens needs to be separated from the housing to install. FWIW, CarID sells replacement non-chrome taillight assemblies for $80 each. -Rod
mjhpadi
Was checking them out....they look pretty nice, except it looks like it would be quite a project installing them and I also read that they do not come with the resistors, so they would have to be purchased and installed. I think they would look great, but a big project. Also do like the LED's in the reflectors in the rear bumper.

SHO Rod
Since my SHO generally sits in the garage all winter, I plan to tackle this project in the coming months. I REALLY like LED tails and already have some load resistors that should work. -Rod
SHO Rod
I received the LEDs tonight and I must say, I'm quite impressed by the apparent quality. There are a lot of pieces and they arrived rather quickly and very well packed. They came all the way from South Korea so they apparently expedite shipping. I'll try to get some photos of the kit pieces this weekend. It looks like quite a bit of wiring to run though. -Rod
mjhpadi
Yeah, I was checking out both the tail light and the headlight kits, but I'm afraid they are both way above my skill and knowledge level to do...guess I will stick with the LED ones I have now: BTW, the headlights are NOT on in this photo it's the reflection from the camera flash. SHO Rod
I took a couple of photos this evening, both as I received them and with them out of the packages. I also powered each of the boards up and they all work. The white pieces in the background appear to be diffusers to spread out the light and keep them from looking like a bunch of discrete LEDs. As received: Unpacked: -Rod
bpd1151
Ooooooh la la...... Fancy Schmansy..... Can't wait to see the final results. Please consider performing a "How-To" and take pics along the way, of each part of the process, from beginning to end. I'm sure there'd be many whom would appreciate it here, including myself. BIGFOOT
hell im about to buy another set of tails, and this kit and then mail it to you with monies and beer and have you do the hard work then send them back to me. HAHAHAHAH
SHO Rod
I was considering purchasing another set of tails as well, but the "affordable" aftermarket tails seem to only be the outer housings, I haven't found the trunk housings yet in the aftermarket. Apparently no one is rear-ending new Tauruses yet, only clipping the corners. -Rod

Echo42987
Looks awesome. I'm interested on the difficulty of installing these. Please keep us posted as I would probably order a pair myself.
SHO Rod
Will do, although I haven't parked my SHO in the back of the garage yet since the weather's been quite nice for this time of year. Heck, my grass is greener right now than it was for most of spring and summer! -Rod
AtlantisGreenMetallicSHO
Hey Rod, I'm relatively new to the forum but was very interested in how this installation was coming along. I have a 2010 SHO and would love to get rid of my boring and somewhat nonfunctional taillights. Cant wait to hear how your installation is going. SHO Rod
I haven't done much with them yet. I took a putty knife to the side of my taillight housings just enough to see if they were going to pop apart easily, but no such luck. Then I moved on to a different project for my dad's truck. The streets are dry enough around here that I may still want to drive the SHO from time to time so I'm a bit hesitant to decommission it right now. I also noticed that the OEM tail housings are not as expensive as I expected. I may just order one to experiment with.... -Rod RudyFloum
SteelBlue402A
Anyone ever seen a Taurus Limited S tho? and the backup cam is below the ford emblem :becky:
navytrev
That can't be OEM.
bpd1151
It's not OEM. I believe that product is from some overseas, Asian based vendor. Came out like 1-1.5 years ago. IDK anyone who's purchased them, yet alone installed 'em. Looks interesting enough though. Sent from my DROID3 using Tapatalk
AtlantisGreenMetallicSHO
Hey guys, I just figured that I would check in monthly to see about any progress that might have occurred. Its such a cool project and I am sure there are a lot of people who would be willing to do this mod that I cant help but inquire. My next project... Attempting to find someone willing to produce the Police Interceptor grill for the 2010 style SHOs. Wish me luck haha K
