10SECSHO
I have the dealer installed remote start option on my 12 SHO and cannot find the instructions on how to operate it. It's the single small square device that attaches to the Ford remote. Any help would be appreciated.
Kolk1
Does it look like this?: Thats an avital made by DEI, same company that makes Viper and Compustar, and several others. Try one of these 3 most common methods: Solid push, release, solid push. When I say solid, not just a quick tap, but like 1/2 second. Single solid push, you probably tried this one. Or, Press and hold for 3-4 seconds. During any of these did the dash lights come on or the parking lights flash? If so, it might be working, but not properly programmed. And could either need tach reset, or the immobilizer might need to be reprogrammed as a 3rd key. Edit: just saw you said dealer installed, these may or may not work. I really only deal with aftermarket systems.

10SECSHO
Hold for 3 second should hear a audible toot of horn and start. Ok...wish I could make it run longer than 10 minutes. The factory remote start on my 13 Explorer is way better than this 12 SHO.

10SECSHO
Actually mine runs for 5 minutes and shuts off. Between that and the engine shutting off when you open the doors this setup sucks. The factory one on my 13 Explorer is way better other than range..Maybe the dealer can program it better..don't know.
sweetair
You sometimes need to hit the lock button on the remote first, even though the car is locked, then press the remote start button 2x. Hold on the second press until it starts to crank over. Pressing the start button again 1x makes it turn off. Try that.

I know how it works other than changing the run time. Do you know how to do that?
