Hey everybody, 2010 MKS owner from the Chicago suburbs

Got a referral here from a Lincoln MKS forum I had been poking around on, props to tss for pointing me in this direction and getting me over to a more active community. Like the title says I have a 2010 Lincoln MKS, she's Cinnamon Clearcoat Metallic, which was not my first choice in color but the car was way too good of a deal to pass up on and the color's actually grown on me quite a bit since then. Here's a quick snappy I took of her back in June:

Right now she's bone stock, I ended up buying a place a little bit after I bought the car so I haven't really had the cash flow for anything really fun, but that will be changing very, very soon. I look forward to checking this place out and getting to know some fellow Ecoboost owners!

Again, glad we crossed paths and I was able to get you over here. I like the color of your MKS. I see a lot of black ones, and the Cinnamon is pretty rare it seems. I had trouble with the clearcoat on the 20' rims (just like yours) so I replaced them with Permachromes. Just a thought if you have the same issues I had, but want to retain the stock 20s. I bought them for durability, but ended up loving the look.

Sweet, you should be able to answer my question then, I really dig on the stock 20's but do desire the permachrome look. If I go the permachrome option, do I need to replace the TPMS? This is my first car with that kind of system on it so I'm not real familiar with all the ins and outs of it.

I had to. I replaced them with removable (ie. re-usable) band sensors. Allegedly the factory band sensors could not be removed and re-installed. They were not that much money. I was used to valve stem sensors before that, which were never an issue removing and re-installing.

I'll keep that in mind when the time gets closer for that, I may have to hit you up for some info on the reusable sensors, I won't love replacing them of course but at least it will only be a one-time deal. Did you ship your wheels off or was there a place locally that handled it for you?

I'm glad you like the color, it's funny you mentioned seeing a bunch of black ones because that's what I originally wanted, but the value in this car was just way too good to pass on, and then it turns out that the more I look at her, the more I like the color, it really turns some heads on a sunny day when she's all clean and polished up.

:welcome: Glad you've decided to join us. Love the color...it may not be your first choice but it is the rarest of all the colors produced in 2010. Very few cars both Taurus SHOs and Lincoln MKSs were built in that color, so you should consider yourself luck to have been able to get one in the Cinnamon Metallic.

I went to the actual Permachrome manufacterers warehouse, in Madison Heights, MI and had them take the wheels off my car and mount my tires on the Permachromes that fortunately, they had in stock..

http://www.permachrome.com .

That way, I didn't have to worry about any core Xchange issues or shipping, etc. They made sure they had the new sensor bands in stock so that when I arrived, we were ready to go. I am fortunate that I was able to not only drive there for the wheels, but I was also able to drive to LMS for the tune. You are not that far from MI.....take a road trip. Lol.

Welcome aboard there neighbor :welcome:

Thanks to fellow EBOF member tss for his word of mouth referral.

Very cool :thumb:

I absolutely LOVE the Cinnamon color exterior. They are pretty rare as far as colors go.

Enjoy poking around here and learning about your EcoBoost and all the performance related stuff that's been done by various members before you.

Don't hesitate to ask any questions as we have a lot of very knowledgeable, and friendly members here.

Seems likes the Chicago contingent is growing rather nicely.

I'll shoot 'ya an invite to the exclusive "Illinois Members" group.

Hopefully we can all meet up sometime.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone, I was pretty heavily involved in forum like this with a different car and made a lot of good friends, until tss pointed me over here it was looking pretty bleak for my Lincoln but just from seeing the posts and the community early on, I have a pretty good feeling about this place. :)

It's kinda funny, he just happened to post some pictures of his CAI and was talking about his tune and I made a comment about how much I was looking forward to getting mine in the spring and he kindly suggested I check this place out, I'm digging it already. I'm definitely down for a gathering, I know one thing that was pretty popular with the old group I used to run with was to go to like Gameworks or Dave and Buster's, especially during the colder months, but I'm pretty down for whatever.

Welcome!

Rick, buddy, pal, friend! I am very much looking forward to you separating me from some money in the next few months.

Would you Chicago guys like to do a car talk lunch with some Mustang guys some Saturday this winter? We had a SHO on the Autobahn last track event I did.

Track time? My heart says yes, my brakes say no . . . until I get something improved over stock, I wouldn't trust my life with these brakes in a high performance driving event, they're ok for the street but nothing more.
