What A/F Ratio and Timing are you tuned guys running?

I see a lot of you guys are tuned with stage this and that but do you know any information about your tune? I have not seen one post where the WOT A/F is posted or what your max timing is set at. I am interested to see what type of baselines I may start at when I begin to tune mine. Typically in a boosted application 11.5-11.8 would be where I expect to max out A/F. Timing could be anywhere from 15-19 degrees depending on how the car reacts. What are you guys seeing with your datalogs?

11.8 might be a bit leaner that I would like to see. But then again the boost levels I run on my Grand Nationals is a bit higher than the average tuned ecoboost motor runs. On my GN's I don't like to see anything leaner than 11.5, and that's at my daily driver boost level of 21#.

I believe each car and combo is a little different. 11.5 is a nice safe pump gas boost A/F. A lot of these tuned guys are running meth and still running 10.5-11.0 from what I have read. That seams to be leaving power on the table but then again I have not started to tune my car and log it to see what it likes. I run 11.8-12.0 with my Lightning but with c16. It responded well in that range. You have to give the motor what it likes. 754rwhp/964rwtq says my Lightning likes that.

As far I know, none has tuned one of these cars them selves.

Keep in mind these are direct injection, and apparently nothing is typical.

But from what I've been told these motors run on the rich side. I will have to install my MyCal on dash again to see what my AFR is again. But from what I remember it remain fairly constant thru out the entire rpm range.

If they like the fuel mixture rich that is what you give it. You tune the VE tables and then go from there. There is a point that by tuning you will find where the motor responds best. Same with timing. You start low and gradually increase until you are just not making any gains for the increased timing. For reliability and daily driving you back timing down.

Did you buy the pro-racer package from SCT and are planning on doing it yourself?

Yes I have SCT Pro Racer software already for my Ford Lightning. I will have to buy another xcal to be able to load tunes and buy another license from SCT for the new vehicle. The biggest thing will be seeing if SCT has unlocked all tuning functions yet for the SHO. Really tuning the new ecoboost is not new. You can probably go to many of the DSM tuners and they would be right at home tuning a boosted car with speed density.
