In other words, you are using the track optimally, so it takes less time to do the distance, but for that same reason, since it took less time, you didnt have as much time to accelerate. When you spin, the wheels rotate faster and you lose time not moving forward... But when you grip, you are at a faster speed with still a lot if distance ahead before reaching the final line...
