Jeremiah5238
Installed some new LED DRLs. I took a page from Echo42987's book. I like the pattern, just not a big fan of the "blue" tint. It was a B** to get the lights in there without taking the whole front end apart, but I am happy with the overall outcome. Comments? Kolk1
How do they look when off, and up close?
Jeremiah5238
How do they look when off' date=' and up close?[/quote'] I'll take a pic tomorrow but I can tell you they are only noticeable if you are up close looking for them. mjhpadi
Looks good! I did a slightly different approach...I used white and only did along the bottom. But the strip blends very well with the headlight tint.

casperl878
looks great, i decided and like to go along the whole light and do it from the top as theres no cars or at least very few that do it this way, also i think with the led's facing down it reflects off the lights and look alot better, but just my opinion, and still a great job and i like yours,

I would like to have a longer strip as well, that way I could keep the same pattern but go all the way across the bottom.

I purchased the Audi A5 R8 Style White Side Glow 20" 21-SMD Flexible Strip. These are self adhesive which makes them easy to mount but the downside is that they will not bend enough to make the curve from the side to the bottom of the light. I really wanted to do mine like yours but had to settle for just along the bottom edge. If you want to have them in the gap and do the sides and the bottom then you might consider the Audi A5 Q7 20" White 48" Flexible Strip. These are a below the ones I purchased on the page. These are much more flexible ( I purchased a set but ended up breaking the wire inside trying to get them mounted, so if you decide on these, just be gentle when installing them. I believe that both types are $16.99 a set and are made in Japan not China. I have had mine installed since last fall without any problem. Hope this helps you. bpd1151
I prefer them mounted as casper has his.... But having them on the bottom looks ok to.... I would've ran the entire length of the assembly if it were me. Sent from my DROID3 using Tapatalk

I would've ran the entire length of the assembly if it were me. I love the way Casper did his, but I didn't want to attempt taking out the headlight assembly and tearing it apart. I wanted a simple installation that gave me some DRL's without a lot of work. I also would have preferred running the entire length of the assembly but couldn't find a strip the correct size. The ones I used were really my first attempt at something like this and I am happy with the way it came out. But it would have been way cooler to mount them inside the assembly, but I was also afraid that with the headlamps tinted, I would lose some of the LED light. If I had a longer strip I would've went the whole length. I also did not realize the whole bumper had to come off to get to the headlights before I bought them. First time, I'm happy until one fails then ill try something different.
casperl878
hello guys, (btw thanks mike, a compliment from ya goesssssss along way buddy mjh- just a heads up what you have posted on the difficulty on the way my led's were installed is TOTALLY off, i personally didnt put them in since im mechanically impaired but i had my buddy do them as i was there helping (watching lol ) and its more of a trial and error as he had a long roll of these leds and just started to play around and put them in different locations, ways, top, bottom, all the way across etc etc. and the final outcome as what you see is just the led strip was placed on top of the headlights facing down so the led's are reflecting off the inner lights giving it that 3-d or mirror deception look. but in all it was just a long strip facing down and on the outside of the lights tucked in as there is a tight lil bit of room to get them in. if you wanted i would just try this out in the evening as it gets a little dark so you can see what you like and looks best, but its mostly trial and error and mine was just like yours in away without taking apart my light assembly etc etc. i hope this kinda helps you and whoever is interested. good luck buddy and keep us posted, anthony I love the way Casper did his' date=' but I didn't want to attempt taking out the headlight assembly and tearing it apart. Echo42987
They look good. You went a little higher then me. Caspers looks good but I am not a fan of running them across the top. I agree though with the blue tint. I would love to have a pair that was more "white". Even tough when I ordered these they said they were pure white. Also getting a longer strip would be nicer. When I installed mine, I did it when the front bumper was off. Which makes it a lot easier to install. A longer strip with a better looking white would be perfect. Echo42987
How do they look when off' date=' and up close?[/quote'] I was able to install them so you can't see them at all until they are on. There is a lip on our lights that you can run the strip across.

I'm gonna find longer, brighter white, and maybe a new pattern when they take a shit on me.
