TonyTheTiger57
I have had my car in and out of the dealer many times for TSB's and severe problems with my 2010 SHO. Every time I take my car in I take my program out and set it back to stock. Well the last time I took it in I had the transmission fixed for a slipping banging problem when accelerating hard from a stop. The dealer told me it was a TSB and they installed a new valvebody and took out a checkball & also loaded a new program in the car. I got it home drove it for a week and tried to program my car, it started hard then started shaking real bad so I shut it off immediately and installed the factory tune, that solved the problem, but my question is do I now have to buy a new program for my car since they loaded new hardware in there or what happened? mhenne4
Nope no new hardware to purchase. From my understanding when the dealer updates our ECM it changes the strategy code. All you will have to do is bring it back to stock, pull the code and email it to Rick and he will rewrite the tune files to accept the new strategy code. Rick or some of the others here will correct me if I told ya wrong
darreli
Yeah...the strategy is probably different with the reflash from the dealer. Rick can fix that issue. Just need to get him the new strategy
mjhpadi
Sounds right, I know Rick was really quick to ship the programming to some others once they got their new code to him.
EcoBrick Bob
Torrie can also do this Tony. If dealer re-programs PCM with updated strategy, which is what is done many times with TSB updates, the new strategy in the PCM is not compatible with your strategy used when supplying you tunes from Torrie. For instance, the TSB on Misfire specifically discusses revising the strategy to a more current one.
TonyTheTiger57
I emailed Torrie a few weeks ago and never got a response back from him, he may be busy, so thats why I asked here, I figured the strategy change was the problem but wasn't 100% sure on it. I really miss having all of that extra power though!
darreli
Oh...didn't realize you were running an Unleashed tune..yeah..Torrie can fix that too
Livernois Motorsports
Updating the strategy after the dealer updates it is pretty simple. I advise our customers to check the strategy after getting the car back from the dealer just to make sure it is the same as it was when they took it in. If not, we update it at no cost and have new files back to you in 24 hours or less. -Rick
tmcphail
I have not had any correspondence from you Tony. PM me the device serial number and current strategy and I will solve it in minutes.

TonyTheTiger57
My email was messed up, problem fixed there, I recieved my new tune, and also updated my programmer. Let me say one thing, the 22 carpenters at work were super impressed when I floored my car while already doing 70 and it took off like a bat out of hell! They all love my car. Thanks Mr. McPhail
