mhenne4
Callin all cars, see.....callin all cars see......... (in a 1930s voice) A fellow member and i are working out the details exactly of our sport mode (double clicking the traction control button and getting the sport mode message in the message center). I am under the impression that sport mode only affects stability control and traction control and has nothing to do with the shift points or anything like that. What do you guys think? Does putting the car in the defined "sport mode" change the way the car shifts? Thanks in advance guys Hennessey
TractorAK
I have noticed on my 13 PP just by putting the shifter fron D to S while holding at a constant speed the speed doesn't change but the rpms go up 500. That's without pushing any traction control. I have done the quick double tap and the hold for 5 sec but I haven't been in the right place to fully test them yet. Plus it tells me when my stuff is turned off but I don't get any indication that it's in sport or track mode.
mhenne4
Thanks for your input but for the data purposes I was only referring to keeping the car in D and using the traction control button to put it in sport mode.
Airportguy770
Ifs it's the same as my 2011 GT. sport mode gives traction control a little more room before it steps in.
darreli
Hmmm...tried to post on this earlier..don't know where it went though. Anyway, Sport Mode doesn't do anything with the shifting. You are correct about the traction and stability control
bobback
Shift points meaning does the r's rev up faster?
EcoBrick Bob
In the Flex, it keeps the vehicle in lower gears longer when not under WOT conditions. For instance, if I shift from D to M, the tranny shifts down into 5th gear if I'm below 60 MPH. However, only a tranny tune will change the shift point RPM's. darreli
He's not asking about D to M though EB. There is a sport mode on the SHOs that loosens up the stability control and the traction control..so to speak. On the PP cars you can turn the AdvanceTrac all the way off

On the PP cars you can turn the AdvanceTrac all the way off There seens to be 4mode of the traction control. here how you get all 4 modes up. PS I said put your foot on the brakes hold it for 4-6 sec (that's the TSC button to hold 4-6 sec. w/foot on the brakes).

mjhpadi
Next question is the sport mode available on non PP cars? I just checked my owner's manual and according to it the Sport Mode is only in PP equipped cars.

On the PP cars you can turn the AdvanceTrac all the way off Realize that I can only limit my T/C vs you PP guys who can turn it off by holding it for like 5 seconds. My comment went towards the guy discussing the shifter position, which does affect the tranny in normal driving situations. Sorry if I was confusing anyone. mjhpadi
Next question is the sport mode available on non PP cars? I just checked my owner's manual and according to it the Sport Mode is only in PP equipped cars. Answered my own question...no sport mode available in my car and no grade assist. I can only assume that it was added after my production. My car was produced about midway through the production of all 2010 SHO's, so I'm thinking it was changed shortly after my production date of 30 Nov. 2009.
