RedCandySHO
Anyone else think the A/C sucks when not on the highway or moving above 40mph? Mine is luke warm at best in traffic etc. Poor design or maybe system is low? It has been insanely hot here, but still, I have never had a car this bad.... double c
Hot here also-but A/C seems fine. Just remarked to XYL the other day that it seemed to cool quickly and this was around town. Now having said that i better knock on wood.
tss
Agree. At stop lights mine seems to kick off a bit too. At speed, it is great.

mjhpadi
I believe that the A/C is supposed to work that way, I think the compressor will shut off when the engine is under load so that it doesn't rob power from the engine.
Bigjht
May want to have it checked to ensure there is not a small leak.
vernonator
Mine kicks off when I stomp on it. Pretty common, most newer cars will shut out the compressor when at WOT
mjhpadi
Pretty common' date=' most newer cars will shut out the compressor when at WOT[/quote'] Yeah, I believe my '75 Mustang II Ghia even did it. So it isn't all that new. I think that the manufacturers began to do it in the 70's as they went to the smaller engines during the gas crunch when gas was a ridiculous 50 cents a gallon!
