geswek
Friend owes me some money on an old deal -- I can get Eibach or H&R springs for less than $200 from him. I hear Eibach is less drop/less harsh and H&R is heavy drop/harder ride. If anyone has Eibach; throw up photos (like to stance) and if you got H&R; throw up photos too. Also, tell me what your ride is like. I don't want a spine shattering ride, however for $200 bucks on springs (kinda not a bad deal). I got some bonus points at dealership so they'd put them in for literally free (few bucks to spend on that). It's a cheap mod I can do now. Darkside
I have the H&R. I have never been in an eibach car to compare but it shows to have a noticeable lower stance. Its a bit rougher than stock form with a slight bit of pogo, not bad at all but it is there.
jdeprato
I think the ride is firmer than I'd personally like. I am probably going with coilovers once they are available to allow for adjustment to the harshness of the ride. I would just do struts/shocks but nobody makes adjustables yet. Rockgt302
I've had both, I like the eibachs better. The H&Rs rode harder and had a pogo effect. The eibachs are smooth until you start pushing them, they are nice on the ramps. The H&R look better.
FLIP-4-SHO
I've had both' date=' I like the eibachs better. The H&Rs rode harder and had a pogo effect. Enjoyed them very much. Looked great. With stock tire/rim combo no rubbing at all. At the beginning, which to choose as others have been here before buying them. H&R of Eibach's. I would still have the H&R on if I did not encounter a serious creak in the top of the strut towers that really concerned me. It was loud and you could hear it while driving/turning and when stopped and turning back and forth. I would have my son rotate the wheel and I would put my hand on the tower and you could feel the creak and hear it. I installed new top bearings and reinstalled them to make sure all was done right. Still it was there. My thought was it was at its suspension geo limit. So i bought the Eibach's. Installed them and no creak. Not once since. The ride is softer for sure and I kinda like it. I loved the stock ride but was way too high in back. Maybe I will put the H&R's back springs in only with the front Eibach's. Eibach's could be a bit lower in back for sure. Just my experience I have had. Not bagging on H&R or trying to change anyone mind. My2Cents
jdeprato
Yeah I was wondering if the stock struts/shocks could handle the drop of the H&R but nobody seemed to be talking about it so I didn't really think twice. If we can just get someone like Koni to make something to replace the stockers that would be a great option if people didn't want to fool around with adjusting coilovers and only adjust the struts/shocks for rebound etc... Just my experience I have had. Not bagging on H&R or trying to change anyone mind. My2Cents I was thinking of doing the same thing, Eibach's up front and H&R out back. I wonder what the stance would look like? I imagine it would level it off a bit. I'll have to keep an eye out for a used set of one or the other rather than buy two new sets. If you switch the rears post up some pictures.
Boggus
Eibachs on my 2013. Sorry for the cell phone camera.
geswek
Hmm; looks like that closed up the gap in the wheel well pretty good! Did you have to get new bolts in order to re-align the car to specs?
Leadfoot
Ignore the fact the car is filthy, but here are some shots of stock vs Eibach vs H&R/Eibach. The ride was the best with the Eibachs. The Eibachs lowered the car 1 inch at each wheel. The H&Rs in rear brought the rear down another 5/8 inch.
geswek
sHHH; ok we need to get together one weekend so you can take me for ride around town. I want to see what it feels like--I like the Eibach/H&R look. It's level and doesn't have the ass in the air. You didn't put those in did you? Shop did it? Did they put in new bolts to align you to spec?
Leadfoot
I put them in with the help of my friend who owns a service garage down the road. We haven't done the final alignment yet (for toe in) but I didn't need the bolts. His rim attachments didn't go to 20 inch for the alignment, so I bought some 1/2 bar stock and we got the rear dialed in. We needed more to do the 4 wheel alignment. Give me a call and we'll set something up. You can also see what the LMS 93 tune feels like.

Leadfoot
It handled the best with the Eibachs front and rear. With the H&Rs in the rear it's a little more bouncy and harsh, and not as stable in the turns (skittish over bumps). The Eibachs were firm but compliant, sort of European feel, but I wanted the rear lower. I may put the H&Rs in the front just to see how it rides. I just wish I knew if I need new bolts for Eibach in order to align it properly.
FLIP-4-SHO
I think Mike put bolts on his H&R's but I don't think I'll need them on the Eibachs. I'll know for sure next week. Even with the H&R's I did not need the cam-bolts. When I put the Eibach's in I definitely did not need um. There was plenty of room in the slop of the holes to existing bolts that they could true them in.
bigPelo
Guys with 2013 MY, did you order the same springs as 2010-2012MY ? Or is H&R #51626 and Eibach #35124.140 are to be bought to fit on 2013?

The front strut mounting is different on the 2013's but the spring perch is the same.
