danhyder
So i pretty much hate the myFord system. I looks nice, but it doesn't work well - especially the voice commands. Typical microsoft product (no offense to Microsoft lovers). Touchscreen is mediocre at best, and the four corners thing is annoying - you should just be able to touch anywhere in the quadrand to select the particular function. They're starting to do Ipad mini installs in cars. Does anyone know of someone who has done this, or is thinking about doing this to a Ford vehicle? I'd pay good money for this to get done. goblues38
the only way i would ever think about doing that would be if i were to replace the entire system. head unit, amps, speakers. I would be a little hesitent in a MFT + SYNC system because the climate controlls are so integrated with the audi touch screen.
RedCandySHO
I know someone that did an iPad in a Mustang. Install was slick and looked factory. Tied into the stereo, and had external climate control stuff. I can PM you his contact info if you want to chat with him.
kuruption
If you're going to do a custom install like that, why limit yourself to the functionality of an iPad? You can get stuff from like mp3car.com that would essentially give you a full PC in the car.
Crash712us
these guys might can do it. http://www.soundmanca.com
danhyder
I emailed soundmanca.com, they never responded. I agree that since the climate and phone is so integrated, a software solution has to be developed to incorporate everything. I'm sure its in the works somewhere.... Hopefully in the next few months there are some good developments.
kuruption
But you will never get that control with an iPad, iPhone, etc etc... because they do not have the hardware I/O to handle it. You would have to have a bluetooth or wifi module connected to your climate control that worked both ways. However the car communications works (and someone will come up with something, check out pac-audio.com), you will need some sort of hardware interface into the car to send commands.
