brandont
I just bought a 2013 Taurus sho with 25,000 miles on it this past Friday. I smelled a burning oil smell the day after I got it and have had a few other people smell it to. This is inside the car. Has anyone else ran into this? SHOdded
Welcome & congrats & sorry you are having problems already. Do you know the service history (oil change/transmission fluid change/etc)? Could be a loose oil cap/filter, or oil leaking past turbo seals (that one seems unlikely for cabin smell tho). Crash712us
sounds like a possible leaky turbo, better get it to the dealer.
brandont
The smell has went away. Talked to a few people and they said it could have been the smell of the armor all they used to detail the engine bay with Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using Tapatalk now Free

Blaine109
I had my PTU go bad (well, oil was coming out of the vent cap on top) and that oil was dripping down and landing on one of the exhaust pipes and burning and then was being sucked into the cabin. I remember seeing an oily residue on the cabin air filter when I changed it shortly after having the dealership install a new PTU.

They said it was leaking and the replaced a gasket (45k miles). I was also noticing the smell of burning oil inside my car. I still do, so I don't know if some of the leaked oil still has to burn off?
SHOdded
Has the smell decreased any? It should have done so substantially after the repair.
