Rock chips

I'm a two time SHO owner, my first 2010 Ruby Red SHO had over 50 plus paint chips on the hood and bumper after only 36,000 mostly highway miles. I live in the northeast and blamed it on the winter road cinders and granular salt treatments and the extra cost Ruby Red paint potentially being soft ??? My 2013 also has extra cost paint, Platinum White - the first thing I did was have a complete front end clear bra installed on the bumper, 21" up the hood and on the mirror backs. Looks great on the white, you can't even tell it's there and worth the cost for my peace of mind.
