The vehicle was returned to stock but I'm wanting to unlock the tuner itself. Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought if I sold the tuner the way it is currently someone else couldn't use it until it was unlocked due to being locked to the vehicle it was originally installed on. tss Posted September 2, 2012 Report Share Posted September 2, 2012 Once you reload stock, my understanding as well is that it is unlocked and can then be used on another vehicle. EcoBrick Bob Posted September 2, 2012 Report Share Posted September 2, 2012 Once the locked vehicle is returned to stock... the SCT tuner is unlocked. However, I believe you can only lock it to about 5 different vehicles before it needs to be sent in. This means you could tune one car, but couldn't tune a different one until you return the first to stock. You could go back and forth twice between vehicles, but you can only tune one at a time.
