interceptor
As I get ready to do my first paint correction on my SHO, I'm just curious from the detail guys how hard/soft Ford clearcoat is. I've read that certain machines (Flex) came out due to notoriously hard GM clearcoats. Just wondering how Ford clear stacks up?
Crash712us
very interesting. But Fords clear is very hard the machines we use at the plant are much more faster and powerful then the flex. The Flex max speed is 3700rpm my dynabrade is 13,500rpms, but all that means nothing if you deviate from proper instruction and correct use of machine and materials. mjhpadi
I haven't had a problem with the clearcoat and doing corrections on any Ford vehicle. I have been using the PC for machine corrections and I normally set the speed when using Swirl and Haze Remover around 3000 and it seems to work well at that speed. When I move to Fine Machine Polish I will increase speed to about 5-5500 and that seems to work fine. I can't tell you about the Flex, but I think Adam's videos will give you the speed to use with the Flex...I believe it does have adjustable speed?
