2011 SHO Driver
Yes this is trivial, but why couldn't they have used a different starter or something to make the intial starting / cranking sound better on my 2011 SHO. It sounds like a cheap Yugo when cranking over ............yes i know i am picky.
Crash712us
Could you be more descript? Reason being I barely even hear the starter, for the few 1/10's of second that it even runs. Perhaps something is wrong with starter.
steve142857
As Chris said, more details please... I have custom exhaust and when it starts, it sounds nice...Perhaps if nothing is wrong with your starter and you don't like its sound, maybe you could look at Dynomax mufflers or x-pipe, or downpipes etc.? 2011 SHO Driver
Its not a mechanical issue with the starter, i just think its a bit of a ( lack of better words ) noisey starter compared to the CTS that i owned prior to my SHO ? Ford's in my opinion have somewhat noisey starters, my girlfriend had a mustang that sounded similar.
K4U2LUZ2
I don't hear the starter on my 2010 but it does sound like there is no oil in the engine for the 2 seconds and it annoys the heck out of me.
Harmon Rabb
Why do fords always need to crank over a bit before they light, but gm's light on the first crank? I've always wondered this. SHOdded
2011 SHO Driver
Rabb....thats exactly what i am refering too....my GM cars popped right over...but Fords seem to always need to crank a time or two before firing ? I would guess that the longer cranking is to clear the intake tract of any fuel vapours that might linger and cause a backfire. Just a guess mind you.
