Jmr061
The latest version of IDS software (85.02) allows Taurus models to enable DRL with either low beam (was available before for non HID) or turn signal bulbs( Halogen or HID). I activated them on my SHO. Jason dalum, ShoBoat and mjhpadi
dalum
I'd love to do this but I'm afraid it would confuse the living hell out of my dealshipI
mjhpadi
Nice, but since I know little about software..is this something the dealer can do, or did you do it some other way?
Jmr061
It's dealer software and equipment unless ur crazy and buy it urself. The software license itself is $700 for a year. I'm crazy. Lol
slideoil
Like that, but I'm going to hold out for the LED DRLs.
Jmr061
Probably not going to see that from the factory. Aftermarket or rewriting the existing LEDs will be ur answer.
mjhpadi
Here's what I did to have LED DRL's...it came out great and was not really difficult, and most people don't even notice the aftermarket strips on the headlamp buckets.
icecam
Any idea if it works on 2012? Either way.. how do you get a dealer to do it?
mjhpadi
Yeah, if it works for a '10, I'd love to have the turn signals on with the LED's. Also, will probably have to have the car put back to stock before installing if it will work on a '10....
Jmr061
The only way to know for sure would be to have someone with the right equipment hook up to it. I know when I initially checked into having the dealer do it they told me one hour of labor regardless of whether or not they were able to turn them on (would not have worked at that time) and there charge per hour is $115. With the IDS software and a VCM hooked up you go into the module programming and select programmable functions and then exterior lighting. With this software I can change tire sizes, dark car feature and a few other things. I think you can even go in and watch live data from sensors etc.
Jmr061
I confirmed today that a halogen headlamp equipped Taurus (2013) will do both low beams and turn signals for DRL (well one or the other obviously). Jason
sixtn39
I had my 2011 serviced on Wednesday and had their best technician check to see if 85.02 would work on my car. After checking he said no.
Jmr061
If anyone in my area (central WI) has a 2010-2012 I would gladly hook up and try it and see for myself. Jason
