TractorAK
Ok so called ford part number for interceptor steel rims is DG1Z1015A and about $350 each. Guy said they had a couple of pallets but none for sale. He could order them. Called tirerack Marshal quoted me 17" model A7 sport edition aluminum with a parelli studded winter for $1395.23 mounted balanced and shipped to AK. No TPMS but I can Ignore the light and check my own tire pressure for that price. I did not realize I could go down to 17" but it sure helped in price. Hope this helps. goblues38
this has been an issue of mine for 3 cars now. 2000 - Audi A6 (awd), 2006 - Volvo S60r (awd), now 2013 SHO (awd). All 3 cars were AWD and had summer tires. problem is, I live in st. louis missouri. we get 1 or 2 snow falls a year of 1-3 inches. But, could get a rouge 8 inch snow storm every few years or so. Ad another 1-2 dustings. But from december to february, the temp can be +40f to -10f. Clearly, not enough bad weather to justify keeping full snow tires on from dec - mar, but who wants to switch from summer only to all seasons. i am able to limit the travel needed during bad weather, but either way i have to compramise / roll the dice. the volvo i decided to go all seasons all year long. This was like kissing your sister. yeah shes a grl, but you know it should be better. I just dont want to have to keep 2 sets of wheels on hand. the OP being in alaska, is a no brainer. Full winter tires from what sept to may?
Blaine109
Ahhhhhh, the beauty of living in South Carolina. When it does manage to snow once every 5 years they just shut everything down anyways and we all stay home.

So you can put 17" wheels on a 2013? I kept hearing that 18" was the smallest you could go? I've got a set of 17" Blizzaks for winter and it sure would be cool if they fit the '13 I'm looking at. Kolk1
We had 15inches of snow a couple weeks ago, and my OEM 20s did fine. I went through 1/2 tank of gas out having fun and driving people around that day. I only see doing a 2nd set of rims IF I start putting down so much power that a normal ultra high performance all season won't hook during spirited driving conditions. I live in eastern Washington where we get quite a bit of snow with long winters. I was thinking I couldn't use my 17's on a new 2013, but it sure appears the brakes are all the same size on all 2013 Taurus. The SE comes stock with 17" wheels, so I'm guessing my 17's will work fine on a '13. I was hoping TractorAK could confirm no problems with 17" wheels after a winter on his '13 SHO. 83racecrew
If your 13 doesn't have the performance pkg, you may be fine with 17". Hopefully Tractor can confirm for you.

MNRubyRed2013
17" wheels will likely not fit. I have a set of 17's with Blizzaks from my 2010, that I tried on my 2013, and the do not fit on the front because of the upgraded brakes. 2010-2012 non-PP cars have 17" spares, my 2013 has an 18". homer
The wife's Sho doesn't even come with a spare, but trust me, no 17" wheel is going on there.
TractorAK
Sorry guys I missed this thread. I had to go with 18's with the PP. Tire rack originally said 17's but the salesman had some concerns so he went to the dealership and looked for himself. Turns out fitment guys just went with 10-12 yr specs and didn't actually test fit. He called me the next morning to tell me and fix the error before shipment. I love tire rack. Here is what I got and they have been awesome. And here they are on the car.
schalacker
As with Tractor, I have the '13 w/ PP and went with the 18" for the winter set. I read too many "close calls" with 17's on the PP, measured the spacing to the PP calipers from the 20" stocks and went conservative. TireRack as well for my set w/ Blizzaks. Around $1300 mounted, balanced and delivered w/o TPMS
interceptor
Thanks guys for the info. It looks like I will be picking up a '13 non PP car. I will let you know if 17's fit.
interceptor
Confirmed. 17" wheels will not fit on a non PP '13 SHO.

schalacker
naes: I went with 18"x7.5"
HighBarSHO
The brake rotors size and calipers are the same on 13 non and pp cars. Only difference being the PP has different pads and brake booster calibration. 18 inch is the smallest rim that will fit. I bet with those winter tires and factory ride height the car will go through anything 15 inchs or below. LOL
