bpd1151
Apparently there is a newly revised warranty policy recently issued (Dec. '11) by FMC that requires their Dealerships to "call in" any warranty claims for cosmetic related items. The intended purpose of which is to obtain "approval" PRIOR to said Dealership performing the desired work by the individual owner requesting such work. This would include, amongst other items, those dubious peeling chrome on the tail lights issue(s) that so many of us have experienced. Here is "the" list for your review:
Showgun
Mark (MJHPadi) went thru the same scenario in Pa late last year for cosmetic issues so I'm not surprised. Thanks for posting Mike. C.

Paulford8
Dealer just told me a couple weeks ago when they "inspected" flaking chrome and the blue flaking off of my blue oval. They did agree to replace it all though so it is OK with me so far...
SHO-MAN
I just had my SHO in the dealership for yearly inspection and 3000 mi oil change. I had showed them the cracked plastic trim around the driver side seat controls. Service manager took photos and sent to FMC to obtain approval for warranty work. It seem FMC approved the work and the part was ordeded 2 days ago..I just noticed the ford emblem has peeling issues, so I will see if the emblem can be replaced as well. tss
I took my mks to the dealer 2 weeks ago 4 a peeling gear shift lever. They took a picture and sent it to ford. It was approved. Not a big deal.
The Bone
I have a sharp edge on my shifter. You can feel it but not sure it would show up in a photo. The dealer took one anyway and sent it to Ford.
