Black00Betty
Thought I'd share my old 1999 Cougar with you guys! This was the very first car I modified so it will always be missed. The Cougar would run mid to low 14's but it was built more for handling/autocross. When I would corner hard and hit the corner right the rear wheels would come off the ground so that was sweet! With the subframe connectors the car was pretty low, I'd scrape on speed bumps and parking lot ramps if I went too fast/ not enough angle. Anyways pics Here's the mod list. SHOdded
Fidanza flywheel coupled with an LSD = awesome! Rear wheels lifting on corners ... what, no VIDEO??? Sounds like a pretty sweet setup.
tss
That's the sharpest looking Cougar of that generation I have seen!
bamsho
Very nice ride. Looks like you did it right. Good job!
Black00Betty
I do have a few older videos! This was before GoPro days but they're not bad! This is my exhaust video after I had the 3L installed. https://youtu.be/8kzRM3B0md0 And a few autocross videos. This was when the only suspension mod was lowering springs so no 3 wheeling.. Looks close at some parts but it's hard to see with the video quality. There is some footage of other Cougars 3 wheeling with stock suspension! It's somewhere out there https://youtu.be/jMze9W9iJ1M https://youtu.be/H7b2QJcoCro https://youtu.be/0-lXKBzPn6s SHOdded
mval
very nice looking ride. always did like that cougars style. but at that time needed a 4 dr car to haul customers around. surprisingly don't see any at car shows that i do, only cougars are older ones. mjhpadi
What a nice Cougar! Too bad you couldn't have kept her....around here it is very, very rare to see a Cougar from that generation...matter of fact, it's a heck of a lot rarer to see any Cougar, but there are a ton of Mustangs. Black00Betty
Thanks guys! Yeah I wish I would have kept her too. I got to the point where I was worn out from it and sick of dealing with all the little issues, squeaks, rattles etc. I think that's why I got rid of it but it would have been an awesome weekend car. I've seen a few around car shows but not very many to be honest, Mustangs were all the Ford really pushed for preformance cars in that era. Mval you would have loved the SVT contour! Same platform, manual, 200hp V6. Part of me wants to pick one up as a toy.
