nw2013sho
Liked my SHO so much I bought the wife an Explorer Sport. Strange thing, the Sport pulls much harder on acceleration. The sport has so much grunt it actually is a little squirrely under full skinny pedal. Anyone else who has both care to comment? Loving the Sport regardless. Great looking vehicle with nice appointments inside and out.
Crash712us
Dont have both but the sport I bet has a taller gear then the SHO.
mjhpadi
Dont have both but the sport I bet has a taller gear then the SHO. Yeah, I'll bet the Explorer has either a 3.55 or 3.73 ratio.
QwikEVO
I pick up my Sport on Wednesday. Can't wait.
10SECSHO
I have a 12 red candy PP SHO and a 13 red ruby Explorer Sport. The SHO is quicker IMO. I think they both have 3.16 ratios..The non PP SHO has a 2.77 final drive. Maybe the Sport will hang with a Non PP..not sure though.
steve142857
Maybe it feels faster because you wouldn't expect an suv to be that fast... But I would bet a lot of money that it is slower to 60 or on the 1/4 mile... Explorer weights more and is less aerodynamic. It must be in between the SHO and the F150 imo. QwikEVO
What all options and what color did you get on your Explorer, nw??
nw2013sho
Ruby Red, 402A, Dual Moon Roof, Trailer Tow, Adaptive Cruise and a couple other small ones. Most of the dealer stock out here has almost exactly the same trim level.
QwikEVO
awesome. I got the silver, all the same options as you plus the dual buckets, roof crossbars, and mudguards
nw2013sho
That was the other color we looked at, very sharp. My SHO is Tuxedo Black so we did not consider that color. Does yours have auto-dimming headlights? Ours doesn't but I don't see where this is a selectable option either. It is mentioned in the manual "if equipped" but I don't see it. I know some options are not available (strangely) on the Sport but unsure about this particular option.

Sometimes i need to manually switch to low beams because the car in front is too far away. To disable the auto-dimming, just put the headlamp selector in regular headlamp mode. bpd1151
Not sure if you saw this thread, or even if you may be interested, however, it may be worth your while to check it out, and at the very least, shooting Rick a PM to inquire what they may be offering. I'm sure that LMS would make it worth your while.
