bamsho
Hey need a favor guys, Any of you running the LME 160tstat and Aeroforce gauge, could you see what temps you are running at. I came home this morning, outside temp was 26 degrees and coolant was running in the 180's with the lowest begin 177. Seems way high for running a 160tstat. Thought I would ask before I pulled it out and check it out in hot water. Thanks RudyFloum and EkbergJen
bamsho
Just found out that those temps are normal. Makes me feel much better. Thanks. DJE
mjhpadi
I was kinda surprised when I found out that a 160 thermostat doesn't make the engine run at 160....so I am really glad that I took LME's suggestion of replacing the stock thermostat with the 160. I was also impressed with the quality of the new thermostat from Livernois!
Livernois Motorsports
I was kinda surprised when I found out that a 160 thermostat doesn't make the engine run at 160....so I am really glad that I took LME's suggestion of replacing the stock thermostat with the 160. I was also impressed with the quality of the new thermostat from Livernois! Firstly, thank you for the compliments! The thermostat will not keep everything that 160°. We are opening the tstat at 160° as opposed to the factory ~178°. So cooling starts earlier. Ford does power testing at ~140°, so all that we are doing is getting you as close we can while keeping the creature comforts of a modern vehicle. tss
I generally run in the mid 180s to low 190s with the LME 160 Stat. Also, I have been told (by others with no skin in the game - my dealer - NOT LME), that the LME 160 stat is a very high quality T-Stat. I don't notice any longer heater warm up times either. tss
What do you guys run on the highway at like 75 to 80? Still trying to figure out if I am running right on temps.
DJE
I think I was running about 185-188.

bamsho
Yeah, been keeping an eye on temp the couple times I've had here out. Staying in the 180's.
brucelinc
So, is it accurate to say that when fully open, the 160 and 180 t'stats both run about the same temperatures when cruising down the highway? tss
DJE
180's is good. brucelinc
mjhpadi
I really do have to find someone to help me install my gauges and pod...I still can't believe that no mechanic here wants to tackle installing the gauges.....
