Jojomofo21
Ok so while I was perusing some of the vendor tents at mustang week this year I came upon a very interesting booth. It's called hydro dipped carbon fiber. It basically water transferred print. They can do any surface that can be wet and just about any color you can think of. It's amazing to see some of the projects. Everything from guns to auto parts to helmets. The best part is its a fraction of the price of real carbon fiber. Supply your own parts, pick a pattern and the turn around is a few days. I found a place here in northern Virginia about an hour away that I am going to check out. Some of you may have already known about this but I figured I would share anyway. I attached some pics as an example. This could get interesting. Lol. wildosvt
Great Idea for a (FAKE) Carbon Fiber Hood ! I wonder if their film comes that wide. Thats a great idea. To know what this product is like. Look at the wood trim on the Brick, Or console pattern on the console on the SHO.

chad1140
I have yet to see fake CF that looks good. There is no way I would pay my hard earned cash to have a vehicle look worse.
Watts
I have yet to see fake CF that looks good. There is no way I would pay my hard earned cash to have a vehicle look worse. 3M's Di-Noc material isn't bad. It actually has a texture to it that catches the light and looks different depending ont he angle. I've had it on my iPhone for a couple of years now with no durability issues except for some shiny spots where it has slid across a surface multiple times. This might be cool to skin a roof or some of the dash trim pieces. http://www.carbonfiberfilm.com/
navytrev
JoJomofo where do you live in northern Virginia? I just moved to Manassas from Dallas last month. I would love to know what youve found out about this process I want to get the black trim on our doors done the same as the outside color. Just to bring some color into the interior. Imminent Rueage
That's a great idea. If i didn't have a black car I would look into doing the same thing. That was the one thing I really liked about the first Raptors that came in Lava Orange was there exterior color being incorporated into the interior...not sure why they only picked that color to do it for though. Of course, now they offer the color matched interior as a separate option for, I think, all of the colors...but the seats are only color matched on the cloth perforated portions and not on the center leather itself like the first Raptors. RedCandySHO
Hey guys. Here is a link to a company I know. They do great work. The only downside to Hydro Graphics is the cost. Due the prep time etc, the cost can be pretty high. http://www.h2oprinters.com

homer
I had the hood vents done on my 2013 mustang by a guy in florida called Southeast Carbon Works. I think they turned out great. stock vents This last picture was actually my car before I picked it up. We ordered it and it came in while we were on vacation in Florida.

bpd1151
Yep. 1st one to have retro'd the 2013 'stang vents onto a SHO. The only other one to have done this is Anthony (also a member here on EBOF). Sent from my DROID3 using Tapatalk
homer
did you dimple the hood around the perimeter to recess them like the mustangs also?
bpd1151
Nope. I probably could've if I had a spare hood to play around with..... But at the time I had this done, I could only find 2 used Taurus hoods somewhat near me. Both were not white in color. And each were close to $1K for the hood alone. So essentially I had my body shop peeps just cut the openings into my existing hood. They're close enough though (as far as being recessed that is). Blacks197
I run a small Hydrographix business and there's multiple ways to make cf look anyway you want. Or customization of many patterns at a fraction of the price of custom airbrush work.
