casperl878
that looks really cool !! i have a few mods i just have done and having done with in the next couple of weeks and 1 of them is my headlights, but this here looks really sharp !! i like the headlights the best and of course the back brake lights peeling chrome that always happens. so quick question on those brake lights can you tell me briefly what you did to prep it and then paint it? is it as easy as sanding down n off the chrome flack and then prime/paint ? nice work, looks great!! thanks anthony
Motor
Thanks! Lights are painted oem but with a semi gloss finish. As far as tails go, thats my third set that was just replaced under warranty after which i said fuck it...and here we are. I'll give you the details from the owner of my shop on the chrome adhesive used. Eric

Any tips on separating the lens from the housing that you'd like to share? -Rod ...make sure you remove the screw on the backside outer edge of the light... 20 mins in the oven @ 250 - start from the top...increase time if its not coming apart.. once top is off back into the oven for 10 mins to get the light soft enough to separate bottom SHO Rod

bpd1151
So ummm yea....... At this point, considering you're like literally THE only ONE who's pioneered this mod (separating out the heads to gain access to the internals) I'd give two poops that you're not a SHO / Eco..... Look'n sick Motor and since you're also located in the Chi-Town area, I'd love to meet up to do a photo shoot next Spring when the weather breaks. Just sick, sick, sick. Nicely done my friend :hail: Mike :yo:
mjhpadi
You've done a great job with the headlights, they look great. BTW, glad that you have joined us here, it's nice to have you!
Lesterg69
I sanded the chrome down to the grey plastic (it was easy very thin application) did a final sanding with 600 grit taped off the lenses and used duplicolor gloss enamel spray paint with no primer put about 4 coats on the last 2 heavy. It gave me a semi gloss finish and it has been 4 months and Is holding up excellent
